Fressingfield Church of England Primary is a friendly high achieving school with enthusiastic children and committed staff, who are well supported by parents and governors. We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant/Communication Support Worker to support a child with a hearing impairment on a one-to-one basis and help them access the full curriculum. The successful candidate must be able to undertake a range of routine tasks to support learning, as well as provide specific support regarding helping to aid understanding e.g. listening to reading, discussing stories, checking for understanding etc.
The candidate should be skilled in using either British sign language level 1 or above or sign support English. Alternatively, they should have a level 3 communication support worker qualification or a level 2 or above TA qualification in conjunction with a British sign language qualification. Additionally, the successful candidate should be willing to undertake further training to develop their skills. Support and development will be offered by the Suffolk SEND and hearing support services.
The post is pupil dependent, and employment is for the duration that the child attends Fressingield Primary school.
